LJ Hooker Assist helps Aussie home movers connect their internet everyday. We pride ourselves on giving you market leading internet suppliers to choose from and making it easy for you to surf the web from the moment you step through the front door.
LJ Hooker Assist can help you choose the right internet product for you, and provide broad guidance on the type of service available in the area of your new home. With LJ Hooker Assist you have the option of choosing between either ADSL & ADSL2+ broadband, Cable broadband or Wireless broadband.
There are lots of ADSL plans available to consumers and these have traditionally been the most popular because they rely on a fixed-line supply through the existing local copper-wire phone network. If you’re after faster speeds you’ll benefit from ADSL2+. It often delivers much better speeds than standard ADSL and is considered a viable alternative if cable is not available in your area.
Naked DSL is essentially the same thing as ADSL but minus a home telephone connection. Internet Service Providers who offer DSL services allow consumers to make use of VoIP services to make calls (often for free) via their Naked DSL internet connection. Naked DSL services aren’t available everywhere, but usually if you can get ADSL2+ then it’s entirely possible you may also be able to tap into Naked DSL too.
Cable broadband modems use Hybrid-Fibre-Coaxial cables (the same cables that PAY TV services use) to reach your home. The appeal of cable broadband is enhanced by the fact that much of this network utilises fibre-optic cabling and this regularly provides a noticeably faster connection speed than going down the traditional ADSL route. Cable can also offer a better speed than the best ADSL2+ broadband service. The downside is that cable is not as widely available as ADSL, but geographical coverage is expanding all the time.
Wireless broadband allows you to hook up to online services using a small plug-in device that can be attached to your computer via a USB slot. Mobile broadband has therefore become a realistic alternative to fixed-line and cable services allowing internet on-the-go, as well as access for people in remote and rural areas. Better mobile networks that offer greater coverage and highly competitive pricing plans has meant that mobile broadband has become accessible for lots of Australians, however, the downside is that speeds can be less impressive.
You can either spend your time trying to find a reputable provider, calling around, and waiting on hold, or we can take the leg work out by connecting your internet on your behalf. We’re a free service, we provide you with a great range of providers and we can arrange other services for you at the same time.
There’s just 3 simple steps. All you need to do is...
Connecting internet to your home usually takes between 5 and 20 business days from the date your order is processed. This can take longer if you are installing ADSL internet because of the requirement to connect the phone line to the home first. Cable internet can usually be installed more quickly.
LJ Hooker Assist will confirm the plan you would like, your move date, and other necessary information and then lodge the request with the supplier.
We check with them to confirm receipt of your order, and at that time - send you further information including your order number, as well as details regarding what you need to do (for installations, delivery of kit etc).
If at any point you require further information about your internet connection it's always best to contact LJ Hooker Assist first prior to calling your supplier as we are easy to get through to and usually we can check in the supplier's systems directly.
